King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes 2014
The classy Taghrooda became the first filly in 38 years to win the prestigious King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot yesterday. It was Telescope finishing second and Mukhadram third. All three are descendants of Northern Dancer.

Brought a tear to my eye to watch this race, I love a top class filly. What a wonderful temperament this one has. Taghrooda's sire Sea The Stars was a favourite and his dam Urban Sea was a heroine of mine. Northern Dancer's supremacy carries on so long after he is dead.
